Benedictine College Women’s Soccer.

We are 5 minutes everyday. We are Rockin Ravens. We are pregame traditions. We are bus ride karaokes. We are team dinners. We are GroupMe jokes. We are birthday crossbar. We are Willies and Lickity Split trips. We are staring at the board to watch our hype video. We are locker room dance parties. We are Legacy Field.

We went from strangers to friends to family. We are gratitude, grit, glory. We are leaders, scholars, champions. We are representing the name on the front and fighting for the names on the back. We are. 34 strong.

Our long awaited spring season has started. How are we feeling? Nervous? Scared? Motivated? Determined? This is what we call the unknown. This is what we call unfinished business. Are we focusing only on what the fall season brought? Do not become so fixated on proving things to others even at a loss to ourselves. Don’t lose yourself in the process, find your focus. Stop replaying frustrating memories of what could have been. Focus on actions that can be taken today to never feel that way again. Mistakes happen, do not become paralyzed by it. Once you become accustomed to dealing with uncertainty and move past mistakes, infinite possibilities occur.

There's beauty in the struggle and there's glory beneath the pain. One day all of these early morning / late nights will all make sense. There will be tears, sorrow, questions, frustration, and so much more. But it is said that "Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute, or an hour or a day, or even a year. But eventually, it will subside. And something else takes its place. If you quit, however, it will last forever." Overcome. Growth frightens people.

Sometimes we're waiting for the universe to change our circumstances, but the truth is, the universe is waiting for you to commit & put your destiny in motion. We don’t need anyone to remind us how difficult, unlikely, or dangerous our goals are. We know what is at stake. It’s our life. It’s our team. And we’re going for it because the alternative is too painful.

Motivation won't come looking for you.... You have to find it. You have to create it. Is it worth sacrificing everything to make your dreams come true? Be honest with

yourself & ask the tough questions. Are you really about this life? If you aren’t sure, then this life ain't for you.

Margaret Thatcher said, "Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny."

Success is our only option. Let’s make it seem like it.
