Meet Me!

Hello readers! Oh, this is weird. My name is Madeline Stewart. Some of you may know me through school, sports, social media, or maybe you don't know me at all. Whatever or wherever that is, welcome.

An ice breaker I get a lot when meeting new people is, "What (or who) do you want to be when you grow up?" I love this question because you get to know a lot about a person by their answer. Some people answer with a job they want to pursue. Some people answer with a trait, like being funny. For me, I just want to make an impact on people, no matter how small.

Now this is a cheesy answer. I know, don't worry. And some think I'm just trying to be high and mighty, but I'm not. This is nothing but the truth. All I want to do is make a positive impact on people's lives. Here I am trying to do just that.

So hi, it's me. I am twenty-something years old. An older sister and daughter. A Catholic. A Benedictine College grad. A soccer alum. A Journalism and Mass Communication major. A wanna-be videographer. A friend to many. An aspiring "inspiration."

I am someone who tries their best to see the good in everything. I like to look for the joy in the little things. I like to laugh and smile, a lot. I feel for people. I put my whole self into getting to know others. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I find myself writing the most when I am going through changes in life, which seems to be almost every day.

Some of my favorite things in life include:

When someone tells you a song that reminds them of you
When people randomly start dancing when they are happy
The first snow-fall
When the sunrise or sunset is vibrant
Unexpected friendships
Hugs
Going on night drives with friends only to stop and stare at the stars
Random FaceTime calls from friends just to catch up
People snort when they laugh and then try to cover their smile
Random 60 degree and sunny days in winter
People fist-bump
Screaming, I mean singing, at the top of my lungs with no care
Summer
Coffee talks
When you see two people who were looking for each other finally make eye contact
Making lists of things so I never forget (obviously)

Overall, I am just someone who is trying. Someone who is living every day in the unknown, trying to surrender control. I love big and I don't hold back. I'm all in.

That's just a little bit about me. I'm using this blog to give a point of view from someone who has been through it. The "it" being whatever you just thought of. I will write about changes happening in my life, something that has been on my heart, or something I need to vent about. Who knows what you will read.

If I'm being honest with you, I don't know what I'm doing. But I hope you go on this journey with me and, hopefully, we can figure it out together.
